I am not an expert in fact just started running during Covid. In January I broke my personal record of 14km. Mostly flat but after I torn my knee ligaments and had to start again. So I understand starting and stopping. I found what helps me stay consistent is just going and doing what I enjoy, if trail runs motivate you maybe just focus on trying to push a bit more on the hills each time. I did find when I when I tried to push myself a little bit each time I improved. Or try experimenting by using the flat one day to build endurance and then try to apply it the next time on the trails? Either way if you are showing up each time that’s going to eventually show improvement. But perhaps one of the other girls have better technical advice. Either keep it up! You can do it! 💪

Also, as my physiotherapist always says. ‘Push through discomfort but rest in pain’. It’s a good gauge on how much to push yourself to avoid injuries. I learnt that the hard way many times 😝
