Hi Salties!

So lovely to read everyone's mantra and why's. It's so inspiring.

My why to do this program is to build more strength and endurance so I do better at work (I have a physical job in forestry) and to feel better in my skin. Moving my body in different forms always makes me feel great.

My mantra is "to be present with what is." I have the tendency to be hard on myself by comparing my self to previous days or others, then beat myself up if I'm not doing as expected, and push myself beyond limits. I want to learn to be able to accept whatever is that day, and not feel bad about it, regardless if that day my best is only 40% of what I could do the day before. I AM doing it, and in itself it's enough.

So great to see that you found this place for you, where you can feel so free to do anything without the need to impress others. It's inspiring. ❤️ I'm still working on this, but you put an example with opening up about it.

I write since I learned by myself when I was 4. I used to show them to adults, and even won a writing competition when I was 7.

But one of my teachers completely shamed me for writing fiction in front of my whole class - she made fun of me and my work, asking things like do I think anyone will ever publish something like this? Who would want to read this? I was maybe 9...

I started to think I am not good enough, and felt ashamed that I kept writing short stories, essays and poems but in secret and hid them in books, in the back of my drawer and under my bed so no one ever can find it.

I write articles about travel, food and lifestyle for magazines, blogs and websites but it was more like a hobby and a side gig. I only started to share these kind of personal works (what I call my real writing or my art), 25 years later.

I was terrified to hit the share button first, but then I felt so liberated. When I received the first comments I felt like I am finally doing the right thing.

Hi Everyone! My name is Imola. I'm from Hungary but currently I'm living in France. We're traveling around so I don't have an exact location but if there's anyone here from France I'd be happy to connect! 😀

My commitment here is to show up for myself in my best version every time - whatever that looks like that day, and learning to accept it.

I work in forestry, so my life is really unpredictable and  depending a lot on the job (from not finding contract to working 10h a day), but I still want to do something for myself. So on work days my commitment is at least 30min yoga to stretch, and on non-working days to show up and build that strength and stamina I need for my work and staying as active as possible. I'm excited to  be part of this community, especially because I was following the salty club from the shadows for so long, until a couple of months ago, when I signed up - as part of showing up for myself and not leaving things for tomorrow. 💖Always choose you, for you.
