Emma White Hey Emma! I'm so stoked you're here and stoked to see another Aussie hehe. Sometimes when the mind has been too busy it helps to have small bite-sized goals, which completing the classes can help as they're all geared to surfing. Have you checked out the surf & yoga program? That will help a lot :)

We’d love to get to know you, so drop a comment below and share:

What called you to The Salty Club?
What’s one area in your life you’re wanting to stretch, strengthen, or soften?
What are you hoping this space helps you reconnect to, find, or build?

No pressure to write anything fancy, just whatever feels real for you right now.

Hello babes!

Last night I found myself getting a lil overstimmied with all the mixed messages ping pong-ing around in my brain. Not really sure what I wanted in the short term of my life, what I should do, what I should dedicate my energy to, what my ‘long-term’ vision should be.

Just those light and carefree thoughts every girl has once a month, no big deal.

The world is LOUD and everywhere we look, it seems like everyone is doing something impressive, or beautiful, or different. Which is great- what a damn blessing to even get to have such a cacophony of options. BUT it’s a lot, and desires can pile on top of each other until it’s hard to tell what goals and desires truly belong to us, and aren’t just something we picked up off the street.

I asked myself these questions last night, and wanted to share with you all, too, if you’re needing a lil clarity like your girl over here 👋🏽 Grab a pen and paper and get journaling.

  1. “What do I want?”
Write down all the things you think you want right now. Anything that comes up. Literally anything- don’t worry about seeming shallow or weird or abstract. It’s just your own brain witnessing you and she already knows what she’s working with :) If it comes to your mind, put it down on paper. Now, take a deep breath, and circle which ones actually feel like yours.

  1. “What does my life feel like when it’s truly mine?” In order to know what really is ‘ours’ we need to know what we feel like when we’re ‘on’, when we’re ‘us.’ When we really feel like we’re living smack-bang in the center of our lives, and grooving inside our bodies. When do you most feel like yourself? What are you doing, wearing, where are you, who are you with, what are you making or thinking about. Try draw links between that, and all the desires you wrote down in prompt 1. Which ones match up? Which ones do not?

  1. Imagine a world with no external validation for a moment. If there was no one clapping, what would you still be doing, building or dreaming of if literally no one ever witnessed it or praised it?  Freewrite, go for it.

This isn’t going to solve it all, but to gently encourage your brain to start making the distinctions, and as you move through your day moving forward you’ll start to flex the muscle of ‘this desire belongs to me’ and ‘this one doesn’t.’

Drop one line or emoji below if something clicked for you, or share what came up!

Exactly! We all fall off, and get back on when we can :) we're setting up habits for life not just for a season, right? Amazing work Casey!

Hey Imola! That can be tough, especially as you said; you're not traveling because you want to, but because you have to. Hopefully there’s a chapter coming soon where you get to stay put for a bit, breathe, and reconnect with your people or find more likeminded souls. In the meantime- we're here for you!

As soon as you unlock one thing, you'll want the next step. As soon as you level up, you'll start wanting the next level. You'll never fully reach a permanent place of 'I'm there, now I can be happy.' it is CONSTANTLY moving. So it's best to remember to be curious each time- what did you learn about yourself or the sport this session? What is a small win? What's something you learned from? Someone with less progress than you could be looking at you thinking 'man, I wish I x like her.'

Literally so much of life is tasks and chores and responsibilities. This can be where you measure and push yourself, as it's important, but also let it be the place where you take the pressure off, surf and skate with people who all genuinely support each other and are stoked for each other, and remember no one is judging, scoring, and there is no prize for getting there faster. Even if you're moving slowly you're probably growing and advancing in so many micro ways you don't even know it.
